20.05.2019 | Application, European Visas, Relocation Information
The situation
According to notification from the immigration authorities in Austria, foreign nationals must now submit an apostilled/legalized police clearance certificate not older than 3 months! If they lived in another EU country prior to their application for a Permit in Austria longer longer less than 1 year, a police record from that country will be demanded as well.
Impact
This will significantly prolong the residence permit application process, and pending applications are also subject to this rule.
Certificate details
The police clearance certificate cannot be older than three months from the date on which the application is filed at the immigration authority.
Updates will be provided via this Website as soon as we receive news from the Austrian Immigration Authorities.
